Our home is in Irving, Texas and we operate facilities that include local recycling centers, steel mills, fabrication facilities, marketing and distribution offices, construction-related products stores and warehouses, heat treating facilities, our corporate office and so much more!
CMC supports the men and women who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. We are proud partners with the US ARMY PaYS Program, a program that guarantees future soldiers and ROTC cadets a job interview upon completion of their service requirements.
CMC also partners with the "Better Buildings, Better Plants Program" through the U.S. Department of Energy. The focus of the program is to improve the energy efficiency of our existing operations and to make conscious choices towards energy conservation each time we purchase or upgrade equipment for our facilities.
At CMC, we value every team member. Your talents are nurtured as we encourage career growth from within the company. We offer careers at every level with stability and the opportunity for both personal achievement and professional advancement.
With a variety of training, coaching and certifications at your fingertips, CMC offers you the support and guidance to help advance you to the next level of your career.
The Commercial Operation Specialist (COS) and Technical Assistant (TA) Development Programs offer participants the opportunity to explore all aspects of the business. The goal is to have participants gain extensive, end to end knowledge in one area (recycling, mills or rebar fabrication). Then determine an area of expertise for a full time position that aligns with both the talent of the individual and the needs of the business.
This on-the-job training is a four year program dedicated to enhancing the skill sets of existing employees and developing new tradesmen who have a thorough understanding of CMC’s Safety culture, equipment and the steel making process. Apprentices are given the opportunity to work hands on with the Crane Crew, Machine Shop, Rolling Mill and Melt Shop operators and equipment, spending one to four months at a time in each area. This program is currently available at our CMC Steel South Carolina location.
Essentials of Management focuses on ensuring our Supervisors & Managers have the knowledge, skills and tools to: engage and motivate their employees, achieve results through their teams, communicate effectively with their employees, and select the best talent. The Essentials of Management program establishes a consistent approach that defines who we are, how we win, and what sets us apart from our competition. It also enables learning and collaboration across departments, functions and geographies.
The CMC Guiding Principles define our purpose and what is important for us to be successful. One of the foundation statements of our Guiding Principles is: Place the CUSTOMER at the core of all we do.
To ensure all employees know what they can do to provide exceptional customer service, we ask them to participate in our Customer Service course. This interactive course focuses on developing a deeper understanding of the value drivers of our customers’ business, and how we can create value for them and serve them better. At CMC we don’t just want to offer ‘acceptable’ customer service… exceptional customer service is our goal!
CMC is a corporate partner of the US Army PaYS program. The US Army Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program is an enlistment option and recruiting support initiative for Army, Army Reserve soldiers and ROTC cadets, showing the Army’s commitment to preparing them for possible employment after the Army. This program guarantees an interview upon completion of service requirements and an opportunity to integrate back into the civilian workforce.
