People Program

CMC Steel Arkansas and CMC Southern Post believe in people. We recognize that it has been through the efforts of individuals that our business succeeds today. Some think of a steel mill as a complex of large buildings and heavy machinery. We think of CMC Steel Arkansas and CMC Southern Post as people; because our buildings, our machines and our equipment are nothing without the people who operate this plant.

From its beginning the Company has recognized and emphasized the value of its people; dedicated men and women contributing their individual talents and abilities to a winning team effort.

Marvin Selig, CMC Steel Group Founder, laid the foundation for what has become our People Program, which is predicated on the following principles:

  1. Dignity of the Individual.
Each employee is an individual with unique qualities who must be treated with dignity and respect.
  2. Mutual Respect.
The Company’s management respects the dignity, rights and privileges of its people and expects the same from them.
  3. Understanding the Profit Motive.
All employees must know and understand that the Company’s prime objective is to earn a profit from its operations and every steelmaker must contribute to that objective.
  4. Importance of the Supervisor.
We believe our supervisors are the key to the success of our steelmakers and are dedicated to creating an atmosphere conducive to growth, development and recognition.
