Finishing

Once the product is rolled, bars cool on the cooling bed ready for finishing.

Rebar, Rounds, T-Post and Squares pass through the 936 ton cold shear where they are cut to a final length and to our bundling station where they produce a finished bundle.

Angles pass through a multi-strand in-line straightener, which removes the rolling stresses before shearing.

Angles and flats are then conveyed to the 80' magnetic stacker where they are packaged, strapped and ready for shipment. This automated system allows us to ship off production eliminating the need for off-line straightening and stacking.

Finished bundles are tagged with a bar-coded tag and moved off the mill via overhead cranes with magnets or forklifts. Bundles can be loaded into either trucks or railcars or into inventory for future shipments.

Rust sensitive materials are stored in our special climate controlled warehouse, which maintains their surface condition.
