The Electric Arc Furnace: A CONSTANT FLOW

 
The start of our manufacturing process is in the Electric Arc Furnace

CMC Steel South Carolina utilizes a 95-ton EAF powered by a 80/90 MVA transformer, 4 VLB burners and a sump burner to turn scrap into molten steel in less than 50 minutes.


During the melting process temperature and chemistry samples are taken by a robot at the furnace door to provide exact control.
