COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
The people of CMC care about their communities. And they contribute by serving on boards, building homes, planting trees, mentoring students, raising Charitable funds and generally being deeply involved in the places they live and work. CMC Steel Group donates a percentage of its profits to local, state and national charities every year. Over the past six years, the four CMC Steel Group mill locations combined have contributed more than $3 million to worthy organizations, including America’s Walk for Diabetes, the American Heart Association and United Way. In fiscal 2006, CMC steel mill employees made over $700,000 in charitable contributions. CMC Steel Group received the Steel Manufacturers Association 2006 Achievement in Community Involvement Award. To support education in our communities, the four CMC steel mill locations have contributed a combined $660,000 in scholarship funds over the last four fiscal years.
