Heat Treating

Steels can be heat treated in a variety of ways to meet your demanding material applications, whether you need high strength to weight ratio, low temperature toughness, abrasion resistance, or resistance to high velocity projectiles. CMC Impact Metals operates three heat treating facilities in Alabama, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, with the ability to process flats, structural and specialty shapes, plate, and SBQ rounds in a wide range of specifications. At CMC Impact Metals, we can simplify your supply chain by sourcing as-rolled steel from our diverse network of steel suppliers, or we can process customer owned material.

Products processed at CMC Impact Metals are used in the fabrication of military vehicles, truck trailers, Arctic service applications, oil and gas drilling equipment, mobile cranes, and mining equipment. CMC Impact Metals also provides finishing capabilities including laser and plasma cutting, shot blasting, precision saw cutting, and powder coating.

In addition to our internal heat treating facilities, CMC’s marketing and distribution groups in the Americas, Asia, and Europe source heat treated plate and SBQ rounds from our global network of steel suppliers.
